Electrical software upgraded

The Amtech2009 range of software comprises upgraded and enhanced versions of FastTest, FastTest Domestic and FastTest Mobile, ProDesign and ProDesign Domestic and SingleCable software from Amtech Power Software. Many new features have been introduced in response to requests from customers. The entire range incorporates the requirements of the 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations. Key features across the entire range include new tools to increase productivity and profitability and the smarter sharing of information between desktop systems and mobile devices. FastTest 2009, for example, offers faster searching and adding of boards within a certificate and enhanced board-management tools — particularly when several engineers have worked on one installation. It can also print certificates on plain paper. FastTest Mobile 2009 has been completely rewritten, building on the success of former versions and including new features requested by customers. They include the ‘multi-engineer import’ function to enable data from several PDAs to be merged into the main database. Customer feedback has also benefited ProDesign, with a new ‘green energy-loss module’ to provide fast calculation of conductor energy losses and assessment of related CO2 emissions. There are now three sections for consumer units, backed by enhanced circuit-diagram graphics to display more-realistic layouts and contents of consumer units. New features in ProDesign Domestic 2009 include the ability to ensure installation methods are compliant with the 17th Edition, as well as facilities for managing multi-split consumer units. One of many new features in SingleCable 2009 is the ‘overload settings pop-up’ to make it quicker and easier to adjust devices when making overload settings.
