Daikin boosts efficiency of VRVIII range

Daikin

Daikin Europe has introduced new and upgraded models to its VRVIII air-conditioning range with higher COPs and EERs for heat-pump and heat-recovery operation.

The redesigned 8 hp heat-pump model has a COP of 4.5 in heating mode (up by 5.4%) and an EER of 4.29 for cooling (up by 6.5%). The new 12 hp heat-pump unit has a heating COP of 4.37 (up by 10%) and a cooling EER of 3.89 (up by 12%).

The extended VRV heat-recovery range also benefits from higher COPs. Upgraded 8 hp units have a cooling EER of 4.31 (+5%) and a heating COP of 4.38 (+2%)/ 12 hp units have a cooling EER of 3.84 (+4%) and heating COP of 4.24 (+1%).

All the new models have automatic refrigerant charging and testing.

Combination systems using heat-recovery models provide continuous heating during defrost and oil-return cycles since only one outdoor unit at a time is defrosted.

VRVIII heat-recovery models feature a year-round cooling option, known as technical cooling, which allows cooling at ambient temperatures down to -20°C.

Baxi research suggests schools strongly support heat decarbonisation

A survey conducted by Baxi of 200 state school estates managers, consultant engineers and M&E contractors has found that while enthusiasm for Net Zero and support for low carbon heating systems in schools is thriving, persistent barriers remain.
