Variable-speed pumps take growing share of market

Grundfos pumps

Grundfos Pumps reports that 42% of its total sales value in the commercial building sector in 2008 was accounted for by variable-speed pumps, which enjoyed a 10% increase in sales over the previous year.

With the recent introduction of Energy Performance Certificates for non-domestic buildings, the company believes there will be an increasing emphasis on the initial design as well as on the refurbishment of energy-saving equipment that will offer the best returns. Upgrading pump systems with Grundfos variable-speed pumps is one of the most effective ways to achieve this.
