Priva’s integration capabilities reduce BMS installation costs
Priva’s ability to integrate with a wide range of building-services plant, leading to reduced installation cost, was the deciding factor in the specification of a Compri HX8E controller to serve the main plant room and Compri HX4 units to manage fan-coil-unit controllers at the Learning Tree in London.
It has over 30 classrooms to accommodate high-tech, hands-on courses featuring the latest hardware and software, The plant room and FCUs were completely refurbished to integrate the existing FCU controller with controllers from Priva Building Intelligence.
The building has a standard heating system with AHUs and chillers. Managing the services are some 300 Priva Comforte CX FCU controllers and 80 previously installed Trend IQL FCU controllers. Priva has linked the two systems with its Compri HX4 controllers that communicate using BACnet and LonWorks protocols.

The existing FCU controllers used LonWorks, and introducing new controllers using a different protocol would have incurred additional costs, which were avoided by using a Priva system which could use the LonWorks and BACnet protocols.
Two floors are served by the original FCUs and are controlled by Compri HX4 controllers using LonWorks.
Elsewhere in the building, the BACnet protocol is used.
Both types of data are received and analysed by the Priva BMS.
