Visitors to the refurbished and extended Betty’s Café Tea Rooms in Harrogate can also experience the services installation by Morfitts.

Morfitts has completed another project for Betty’s Café Tea Rooms, this time for mechanical services for the expansion and refurbishment of the Harrogate Café, working with main contractor William Anelays.

The work was undertaken while the café continued to trade and involved installing all the mechanical services and plumbing works, including LPHW heating via gas -fired condensing boiler to serve radiators, chilled beams and AHUs — the cooling element being served from a roof-mounted chiller.

A single ventilation system serves kitchen areas on three levels, with a second system ventilating the café areas. The is a fully automatic system to control the services.

Paul Baldwin, contracts director with Morfitts, says, ‘We have worked on projects with Betty’s for over 20 years, including the specialist craft bakery in Harrogate and their six famous tea rooms around the region. During that time we have developed a very clear understanding of their specific needs, plus a very positive working relationship with their team.’
