Smith’s plinth fan convector generates huge amounts of interest

Growing interest in the Space Saver fan convector from Smith’s Environmental Products is demonstrated by the amount of information downloaded from the company’s web site.

Smith’s Environmental Products reports that its online guide to installing its Space Saver fan-convector unit has become its most downloaded document. The 12 months from August 2008 to July 2009 saw 39 400 downloads of the Space Saver installation guide, along with 1956 users accessing the PDF online.

The Space Saver is a highly efficient fan convector that fits neatly into the plinth of a kitchen unit. Fan convectors have only 5% of the water content of a radiator of equivalent output, so they heat up faster and respond more quickly to changing heating requirements.

Jim Bennett, the company’s sales and marketing director, says, ‘This record amount of Space Saver downloads shows that installers and end users are using fan convectors more and more, which is indicative of a shift towards fan convectors becoming an alternative heat source.’
