Swiftclean, which specialises in ventilation hygiene and legionella control, has achieved a ‘full house’ of international accreditations. They are certification to ISO 14001 environmental, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 occupational-health-and-safety standards.

The triple achievement was marked by a special presentation at the headquarters of the Heating & Ventilating Contractors’ Association by deputy chief executive Roderick Pettigrew to Gary Nicholls, founder and managing director of Swiftclean. He is also chairman of HVCA’s service and facilities group.

Mr Pettigrew said, ‘At a time when many companies are looking to make cuts, it is refreshing to see Swiftclean making such a substantial commitment to quality.

‘It is now more important than ever that businesses should develop a competitive edge by investing in future expansion for when the markets recover.’

Swiftclean was founded 27 years ago and now has a turnover of £4 million, employing 80 people.

Gary Nicholls comments, ‘There is no doubt that recent changes in legislation have helped us expand. The new fire and safety order and a high number of high-profile legionella outbreaks and prosecutions have prompted many building operators to seek specialist expertise from companies like ours.’
