A safe bid for high-tech comfort for new auction house in Northern Ireland

Mitsubishi Electric, air conditioning
Going, going, gone. Two Mitsubishi City Multi R2 air-conditioning systems serve this purpose-built auction house in Northern Ireland.

The installation of Mitsubishi Electric’s City Multi R2 air conditioning into a purpose-built auction house in Dronmore, Co. Tyrone, is helping to provide a comfortable environment for international bidders from around the world. It was installed by Air Cool Engineering of Limavady, a business solutions provider for Mitsubishi Electric, enabling the company to offer a 5-year warranty on the air-conditioning installation.

The site is the new headquarters of Euro Auctions, specialist auctioneers of industrial plant and construction equipment throughout Europe. The huge building includes a 300-seat auditorium for buyers who bid on a procession of equipment that is paraded in front of them.

The site also houses the senior-management, administration, sales and marketing departments of Euro Auctions.

There are two City Multi systems serving 24 indoor units via two BC control boxes that enable simultaneous heating and cooling. There are also five Lossnay heat-recovery ventilation systems.

Martin Mullan of Air Cool Engineering, explains, ‘The beauty of the City Multi system is the complete flexibility it gives to the design process and the advanced controls it offers the building’s owners.

‘The Euro Auction building is made up of many rooms of varying sizes — all with different heating, cooling and ventilation requirements. We have put together different Mitsubishi Electric technologies and bespoke control systems to deliver a start-of-the-art system which matches the feel of the building and maintains the optimum temperature, whatever the season.’
