Altherma heat-pump system comes with smaller outputs

Daikin, Altherma, heat pump

Daikin has added smaller models to its Altherma monobloc range of air-to-water heat pumps. They have nominal capacities of 6 and 8 kW and provide a plug-and-go solution for applications where space is restricted and smaller capacities are required, such as social housing.

All the main hydraulic components are in the outdoor unit, as is the refrigerant piping, enabling a system to be installed by a heating specialist or plumber.

These smaller units are available for heating only or heating/cooling and can be used with underfloor heating, low-temperature radiators or Daikin heat-pump convectors.

The outdoor unit has an inverter-driven compressor which reduces start/stop cycles, has a low starting current and which eliminates the need for a buffer tank.

The outdoor unit houses all major components such as plate heat exchanger, expansion vessel, water circulating pump, water and refrigerant piping, valves and flow switch — thereby dramatically reducing installation time.

The system can be supplied with a DHW cylinder with a capacity of 150, 200 or 300 l. The compact control box is installed indoors, also with a back-up heater that is activated automatically during extreme weather conditions.
