Wine bar makes classic case for energy efficiency

From bakery to restaurant and wine bar, with the help of Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning to provide heating and cooling — the Classic Winebar in Limavady in Northern Ireland.

Energy-efficient heating, cooling and ventilation for a new restaurant and wine bar in Northern Ireland is provided by a Mitsubishi Electric heat-pump air-conditioning system and two Lossnay heat-recovery ventilation units. The Classic Winebar in Limavady is the result of transforming a bakery into a contemporary and chic new dining experience that includes a 5000 m2 dining space, wine bar, cocktail room and an open-air courtyard.

Air Cool Engineering of Limavady won the tender to install the systems. The company is a business solutions provide for Mitsubishi Electric, so it can offer a 5-year warranty. The initial design was provided by DMAC Engineering Design.

The restaurant has three ceiling cassettes and two ducted units in the main ground-floor dining and bar areas to deliver heating and cooling. They are served by five Mr Slim outdoor units against the rear wall on a flat roof at first-floor level.

These inverter-driven 10 kW outdoor units can achieve COPs of 3.41.
