Gilberts launches new grille for sporting premises

Gilberts, grilles

Gilberts describes its HG Series of grilles as a tough, uncompromising but safe solution for supplying and extracting air in sports halls, gymnasia and similar areas. They are based on aluminium, which is easier to fabricate than the previous stainless-steel grilles, but which still retains the high strength required over large surface areas. The cost is nearly 25% less.

These grilles comprise substantial 10 mm section rounded aerofoil vertical blades set close on a 16 mm pitch to provide a strong central air-distribution core. A large 50 mm flange border frames the core and has mitred corners to offer a strong and comfortably sized landing for fixing to the structure. The frame has smooth edges to reduce the risk of collision injuries, and the narrow blade pitch of the core eliminates the risk of fingers being trapped.

Sports England guidelines were widely consulted in the design and development of this grille.

Standard sizes are up to 10 x 2 m, with larger sizes on request. Standard finish is white polyester powder, with special colours and finishes on request.
