Wireless sensor solution for better legionella control

Better control of legionella can be provided by a new wireless solution for monitoring temperature, alongside significant savings in maintenance time, cost and fuel bills. It has been developed by Sontay and legionella specialist H20 Chemicals and is based on the SonNet family of battery-powered wireless sensing devices with powered network receivers and routers, and software.
The temperature of water and air cooling systems is measured at set frequencies and periods and the results sent to the building’s control system, helping to identify trends and temperatures that are out of specification and control the risk from legionella.
Gary Bartlett, Sontay’s national sales manager, says, ‘We chose to work with H20 Chemicals as they are a progressive company specialising in training, consultancy and chemical products to ensure optimum efficiency and control in all areas of water-systems technology. They are a leading authority on the control of legionella and the health and safety of water and air cooling systems.’
