Ameon set to exceed turnover forecast

Growing business in the north west of England are Ameon's managing director, Robin Lawson (front) and commercial director Mark Court.

Ameon, building-services-engineering specialist based in Blackpool, expects to achieve a turnover of £30 million at the end of the financial year, over 10% ahead of forecasts. Additional sales in the last quarter were largely responsible for achieving an extra £3 million of turnover.

New business gains came from Ameon’s expertise in renewable-energy systems, with contracts to fit solar PV panels at Liverpool University and on 121 houses in East Lancashire on behalf of Greenvale Housing Association.

The latter contract was worth £1 million and completed in three weeks to beat the Government deadline for reducing Feed-in Tariffs for solar systems.

Managing director Robin Lawson comments, ‘Margins in the building sector have been squeezed as a result of the economic downturn, but we’ve managed to increase the volume of work to compensate. We have an effective commercial department, which has been very successful in securing new contracts, and we also enjoy excellent levels of repeat business.

‘We will continue our investment in training and also in our apprenticeships scheme to ensure that our workforce maintains the high standards our clients demand as this is the only way to maintain growth in good or bad times.’
