Chillers have inverter drives on compressors

Daikin Europe’s EWAD-TZ range of air-cooled chillers use R134a and offer cooling capacities from 200 to 700 kW. Inverter-driven screw compressors can reduce running costs by up to 20% compared to traditional chillers.

These compressors are optimised for high-speed rotation and have stepless capacity control. The unit is compact because the refrigerant-cooled inverter is part of the compressor body, making it no larger than a non-inverter unit. Because the inverter is part of the compressor, the electrical panel is compact and does not require forced ventilation.

There are three sound-level options: standard with 83 dB(A) at 1 m, low-noise with 77 dB(A) and extra-low-noise with 73 dB(A).
