Balfour Beatty services custodial unit in Scotland

Balfour Beatty

Balfour Beatty Engineering Services is responsible for the £2.8 million M&E contract for the new Police Scotland custodial suite in Aberdeen. The project includes a new 60-unit custodial facility built on two distinct levels. There are secure elements on the lower level and a glazed office building on the upper level. The development also includes office space, a virtual court, identity-parade room and car parking.

To achieve the anticipated BREEAM ‘Very good’ rating, sustainable solutions such as lighting control and LED luminaires have been adopted. The project also uses building information modelling (BIM).

The cell service installations will be created by BBES at its off-site factory in Wednesbury.
