LJJ wins refurb contract

LJJ, contractor

LJJ, which specialises in M&E design and installation, has won the £6 million M&E contract to upgrade building services at Rivers Office Park in Rickmansworth, home to UK offers of car manufacturers Nissan and Renault. The project forms part of a larger Cat A refurbishment programme designed by Aros Architects.

With a combined internal area of 9200 m2, the three buildings date from 1988, and this scheme is their first major upgrade.

Two of the three buildings are occupied. The project will be phased to enable each tenant to move into a refurbished building while their offices are upgraded.

Mechanical-services work includes new FCUs in ceiling voids, incorporating AHU heat recovery and temperature control. Existing chillers will be serviced and maintained. New ventilation and air-handling equipment will be ducted down existing risers. There will be new hot and cold water services for toilets and welfare facilities. A new gas supply will be put in for the three boilers in each building.
