Hotel guest rooms are air conditioned in a day

Powrmatic, air conditioning, condenserless

Customised Powrmatic Vision 2.3 condenserless heat-pump air conditions have been installed in guest rooms as part of a major refurbishment of Whittlebury Hall conference, training centre and hotel, close to the Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire. 55 units were installed, and they were selected for their ability to meet key criteria relating to internal and external aesthetics, as well as speed of installation and ease of use.

The first phase of the refurbishment involved the units being installed into executive suites and club rooms in time for the 2015 Silverstone Grand Prix — a busy time for the hall, with many drivers and team crews using it as their base during the event.

The packaged design of the Vision 2.3 means there is no outdoor unit, enabling them to be installed very quickly. Units can also be installed during the day when guests are elsewhere, so there is no downtime The only external evidence of a unit is two discreet 162 mm-diameter holes. The external grilles were painted dark red at Powrmatic’s factory to match the external brickwork.

Vision 2.3 has a nominal cooling capacity of 2.3 kW with an EER of 2.71 and a nominal heating capacity of 2.25 kW with a COP of 3.

The second phase of the refurbishment will see the remaining 159 rooms fitted with these air-conditioning units.
