Daikin concealed duct units have inverter fan motors
New Daikin concealed ceiling-ducted indoor units have inverter-driven fan motors in both VRV (FXSQ and FXMQ) and Sky Air (FBQ and FMDQ) product lines, reflecting the company’s emphasis on energy efficiency and installation flexibility.
Using these motors to drive the fans of indoor units reduces energy consumption by up to 40%. The fan in the FBQ71, for example, uses 113 W compared to 181 W for the previous model. Further improvements to efficiency are made by enlarging heat exchangers wherever possible.
Airflow can be adjusted automatically via the wired remote controller, so calculation of duct dimensions and ESP are no longer so critical to optimum system operation. Design flexibility has been increased with a larger range of external static pressures supported from 50 to 200 Pa for the FXMQ50, for example.
A 3-step airflow control can reduce noise to 26 dB(A) for the FXSQ25 and 29 dB(A) for the FBQ71. They have built-in air filters and integral drain pump.
