Emergency-lighting producers prepare for battery regulations

Lumicon

Lumicon, the established WEEE compliance scheme for producers of non-household lighting equipment, has produced an information pack to help members prepare for the new battery regulations which come into force on 1 January 2010.

In particular, suppliers who place packs of industrial nickel cadmium (NiCd) and self-contained emergency-lighting equipment to the UK market will be governed by the regulations and be required to provide a take-back service for such discarded batteries.
