By donating a tree for the Forest of Marston Vale in Bedfordshire for every old air-conditioning system replaced with a modern efficient system, Air-conditioning installer Guardian Project Services of Maulden in Bedfordshire has donated 275 trees. They were planted recently, with the help of staff from two major customers — Autoglass and tesa UK, one of ht leading brands of adhesive tape.

Simon Thurstans, Guardian’s managing director, says, ‘Modern air-conditioning system are highly efficient for both heating and cooling. Our replacement programme assists our customers to reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint. The payback of capital is usually achieved quickly by the savings in energy bills, and often help with the initial cost can be sought through the Carbon Trust’s 0% loans.

We will be continuing the scheme this year and plan to hold another tree-planting day at the end of the year.’
