Riegens makes the Grade in school refurbishment

Riegens, lighting, luminaires

Riegens Blocks suspended luminaires have been installed in the refurbishment of King Solomon Academy in north-west London. Specified by Arup, the brief was to provide high-quality, robust luminaires that would deliver a good even light distribution.

Part of the project specification required the luminaires to blend into the original and unique 1960s style of the old Grade 2 listed building. The Block’s luminaires provide a mix of direct and indirect light. A mix of twin and single units with 28 and 21 W lamp options was installed.

David Eames of Arup comments, ‘An additional specification of the project dictated that the luminaires had to work harmoniously with the existing mullion structure, and Riegens was able to help us and offer bespoke colour units to our exact RAL number to match the architect’s aesthetic scheme.’
