£12 million boost for Ameon

Ameon, based in Lancashire, has reported a new contracts boost worth £12 million. This building-services-engineering company has secured a raft of new contracts following its recent rebranding. The biggest are for BAE Systems at two sites in Lancashire. They total £6.5 million, with work starting immediately and involving the application of new low-carbon technologies.

Other conracts include £3.3 million for Furness College in Cumbria. Projects at Manchester Crown Court, the Peninsula building in Manchester’s Northern Gateway, Rochdale College and Reasheath College in Lancashire account for the rest of the £12 million total.

Managing director Robin Lawson, said, ‘Our growing green credentials and our ability to apply new technologies are helping us to gain new business. I’m especially pleased that we’re bucking the trend in our industry at a time of austerity due to the state of the nation’s finances. These new contract gains vindicate our decision to invest in new technologies and will help us to develop our reputation in this specialist field.’
