BSRIA publishes new rules of thumb

BSRIA, Rules of thumb

The fifth edition of BSRIA’s popular rules of thumb is now available. Information has been updated and expanded to include greater detail and is presented in a spiral binding. This guide will be useful for setting outline targets and comparing options to inform the early stages of the design process.

New additions include much more guidance about space and weight allowances and benchmarks for CO2 emissions. There is clearer guidance about costs, which now includes energy consumption, maintenance, operation and life-cycle costs. There is also guidance about compliance with Part L, renewable technologies and the air permeability of buildings.
