Communal heat-pump system serves holiday homes in Yorkshire

This development of four refurbished stone-built holiday homes in the village of Church Houses in North Yorkshire is serviced by a bespoke communal heating system based on a Danfoss ground-source heat pump. The installation meets local planning requirements for the use of renewable energy.

Pure Renewables, a Danfoss-approved installer, designed the system. It includes a 26 kW heat pump that extracts heat from the ground via 1500 m of ground loop in land next to the holiday homes. All heating and hot-water requirements are met by the system.

There is a 750 l buffer tank and 1000 l hot-water tank. Each cottage has underfloor heating.
