Energy metering system is quick to install

Carlo Gavazzi, energy meter, BMS, BEMS

Carlo Gavazzi has expanded its quick-fit range of energy-metering system with the EM271. When used as a 3-phase energy meter with its association split-core current transformers, it can be installed five to 10 times faster than existing methods. Similar to the EM270 meter, it can measure up to two 3-phase loads or up to six single-phase loads, as well as creating a virtual meter to provide the sum of two 3-phase or six single-phase loads.

There are Modbus + Pulse or Modbus + Modbus versions that can send data to PCs and PLCs for full load control. All electrical parameters of the installation can be sent via the RS485 serial port for integrating with a building-management system and other standard acquisition-monitoring systems.

A choice of systems can be programmed to provide active and reactive energy measurement.

Accuracy is ±O.75% for the combination of meter and current transformer. The meter is rated equivalent to class 1 (kWh) according to EN 62053-21.

A self-powering detachable display enables the meter to be mounted on a front panel with a 72 mm-square footprint or on a DIN rail using four module widths.
