School refurbishment uses Mikrofill boilers

Mikrofill, boiler, space heating

Heating for new and refurbished buildings at Langley Park School for Boys in Beckenham is provided by boilers from Mikrofill. The work included a state-of-the-art performance space, a new Sport England sports hall adjacent to the Phythian Building, which was refurbished to match the new construction.

Design-and-build contractor LJJ of High Wycombe selected floor-standing condensing boilers and HWS Extreme loading systems for DHW across the site.

Two twin-burner Ethos 350 kW boilers were installed in the new school to provide heating to numerous variable-temperature circuits. They also provide heat to a bank of Rapide Extreme HWS loading systems to produce over 2570 l/h of DHW at 60°C.

Two more of the same boilers were installed to serve the Phythian and sports hall buildings, along with a Mikrovent 750 low-loss header integral air and dirt separation.

A turndown ratio of 20:1 ensures excellent load matching and operating efficiency.
