Lighting controls in perfect harmony

CP Electronics, lighting, control
Lighting control for the new music department at Bryanston School is based on CP Electronics’ PIRs and microwave sensors.

Lighting-control specialist CP Electronics has supplied PIR sensors and microwave detectors for the new music department of Bryanston School near Blandford Forum in Dorset. Installed by Accolade Building Services of Ringwood, the controls provide accurate and easy adjustment of light levels to suit a varied range of activities.

The music facility for this co-educational independent school for day and boarding pupils has 35 teaching/practice rooms and offices, recording studios and a recital room.

The detectors mainly control T5 fluorescent luminaires with DALI ballasts to provide absence detection and daylight linking in al the music rooms and teaching spaces. The user has complete control to adjust light levels to suit individual requirements.

The microwave detectors turn lights on as soon as the door begins to open.

There is presence detection in corridors, toilets and stores.

The school has a programmer and has received training with the professional commissioning handset to allow minor adjustments to be made.
