REL appointed for £1.4 m primary-school services

REL Electrical, contractor

REL Electrical, based in east London, has been appointed by ISG to deliver a £1.4 million M&E package for a new primary school in Wembley. All the M&E work at Wembley High Technology Primary School will need to be completed in just 16 weeks.

This £12 million school comprises three teaching blocks and an energy centre. It has been designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

REL’s scope of works includes connecting each building to the energy centre using pre-insulated underground pipework, installing boiler plant, hot-water systems, radiators, heating and a natural-ventilation system. The electrical elements include all power, lighting, access control and CCTV systems throughout the school.

Peer Theophile, technical-services manager with ISG, said, ‘This is a complex project requiring a very quick turnaround, so we needed an M&E partner with the appropriate resources, skills and expertise to deliver within the tight timeframe.’
