Zucchini powers up O2 Arena

The redesign of the electrical power systems for the largest entertainment venue in Europe, the O2 Arena in London, makes extensive use of equipment from Zucchini. The company supplied 15 of its latest-generation EdM cast-resin transformers from its 1250 to 3150 kVA power ranges. Reduced noise, zero maintenance, energy efficiency, no pollution and fire resistance were all factors influencing their selection. Zucchini worked closely with Sapphire Controls of Norwich, which was responsible for installing the transformers Working with DES Electrical of Blackpool and T. Clarke Plc of London, Zucchini also supplied and installed its 2500 A SC high-power busbar systems with ‘weatherproof specifications’. The distribute power through the indigO2 live-music venue, which is inside the O2 Arena and has a capacity of 2350 people.
