Flakt Woods supplies its largest AHUs for City project

Flakt Wood
Flakt Woods largest air-handling units, with thermal wheels, are being installed in this speculative development in the City of London.

Flakt Woods’ largest air-handling units, the colossal EU 34s are being installed in The 10-storey Walbrook scheme, the £155 million design and construct office and retail development between Bank and Cannon Street stations in London. Designed by Foster & Partners and being built speculatively, it will include 3900 m2 of office and retail space.

All these AHUs incorporate Flakt Woods’ patented thermal wheel to recover energy with an efficiency of up to 90%. These thermal wheels are only 500 mm long, regardless of the size required.

Commissioned specially for the project, these AHUs are connected to the building-management system and will contain a unique configuration to simplify interconnectivity with other services.

Work has started on site, with completion scheduled for late 2009.

Skanska Rashleigh Weatherfoil is M&E contractor with Roger Preston & Partners responsible for M&E design.
