Run Standby panel can be controlled from mobile phone
Mitsubishi Electric has launched a Run Standby (RS) panel to replace existing models to control up to eight systems using Mr Slim or M Series air-conditioning products. The RMS SMS panel replaces RS1/RS2/RS3 panels with a solution that is smaller and up to a third cheaper than previous models. The new panel also has an optional SIM-card facility to give full control over a mobile phone and send text messages to report errors.
These panels are well suited to air-conditioning systems serving computer rooms as they help maintain and control the constant temperatures required in the most energy-efficient way. The panel allows systems to be programmed to allow up to seven to act as standby while the other systems operate.
Phil Ord, product marketing manager for Mitsubishi Electric, explains, ‘We have looked to improve the panel in every area, including making it easier to install with a 2-wire cable connection for each indoor unit. At the same time, we have brought a product to market that is smaller and offers more functions, whilst being available at a lower price than previous models.’
