Eco-label accreditation for Ecodan heat pumps

Mitsubishi Electric, Ecodan heat pump

Mitsubishi Electric has been awarded the European Eco-label in recognition of the superior environmental performance of its Ecodan range of residential heating units — and claims to be the first manufacturer of heat pumps to receive this award. The label guarantees that the company’s three Ecodan products meet the European Energy Directive environmental criteria for heat pumps.

Ecodan is straightforward to install. It will operate with radiators and underfloor heating and also product domestic hot water. An installation qualifies for the English £400 boiler scrappage scheme and also the UK Microgeneration Certification Scheme grant of £900.

Ecodan will also qualify for the Renewable Heating Incentive, which is planned to be introduced in April 2011.
