Refurbishment work at one of the UK’s largest schools, Statonbury Campus in Milton Keynes, has seen the installation of seven Eurocondense two condensing boilers from Potterton Commercial to provide space heating. Built in the 1970s, the school has 2600 pupils aged 11 to 18. The work was carried out over the Summer break in successive years. The first phase involved four blocks, including reception and the theatre. The second phase saw the upgrading of two academic blocks.

The boilers were selected by Architecture MK. Barry Hickmott, engineer of Architecture MK, said, ‘We standardised on Potterton Commercial boilers as we found them to be completely reliable, manoeuvrable and, with compact dimensions, easy to locate in plantrooms with difficult access.’

In the first phase, the three linked buildings are served by two 200 kW boilers supply the LPHW radiator system.

The second phase incorporates four 250 kW boilers with plate heat exchangers to protect the existing pipework and radiators from the higher operating pressures of the new boilers.

All the boilers were installed by T. Clarke East (formerly Aylward EMS).
