Panasonic introduces R410A replacement for R22 using same pipework

R22 air-conditioning systems can be rapidly converted to R22 using a renewal solution from Panasonic Heating & Cooling Systems. Existing pipework can be used to cut replacement costs by around 30%. A key issue is enabling new systems to operate at the same pressure as the R22 systems they replace. In addition, a considerable increase in efficiency can be expected, with an EER for an R22 system increased by up to 4.56 with R410A,

R22 Renewal can be used with existing Panasonic systems and virtually all types of R22 systems from other manufacturers. The system enables a new VRF system to be installed using existing pipework by managing the working pressure at around 33 bar. High EERs are achieved through the use of inverter-controlled compressors and state-of-the-art heat-exchanger technology.

For VRF systems, checks are carried out on pipe lengths and branch networks to ensure that they meet current design criteria. Existing indoor and outdoor units are then replaced with current units from Panasonic’s ECOi range. The approach has been carefully engineered to take into account the different operating pressures of the refrigerants involved.
