CentraLine itself won the Contribuiton to Training Award.

CentraLine by Honeywell is delighted that three of its category nominations are winners of the 2015 Building Controls Industry Association Awards.

Held on 14 May at Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, and hosted by BBC News presenter Babita Sharma, the Building Controls Industry Awards ceremony recognised outstanding performance by individuals and companies in 2014.

The entries were judged by an independent panel that included the editor of Modern Building Services and representatives of research and academia organisations BSRIA, CIBSE and University College London.

CentraLine Partner Smart Buildings and Barclays developed an innovative solution for Barclays to improve its installed building-management systems.

Gavin Jones, Eton Controls Ltd — Engineer of the Year Award

Gavin Jones has been in the controls industry for nearly 30 years. His expertise covers a wide range of control engineering from industrial and pharmaceutical to commercial buildings. His recent work includes 35 floors at 20 Fenchurch Street, London, and 85 apartments in Knightsbridge.

Smart Buildings Ltd — Energy Management Award

Smart Buildings and Barclays have developed an innovative solution for Barclays to improve their installed building management systems. The result is a dashboard solution (SmartVue) which provides remote management and improved control on a global basis.

CentraLine Training Centre — Contribution to Training Award

Gavin Jones of CentraLine Partner Eton Controls won the Engineer of the Year Award.

For the past 10 years, the CentraLine Training Centre has been a leading provider of building control automation training, with an emphasis on software used for control, integration and graphical supervision. The centre has trained almost 1300 students in software that uses open protocol such as BACnet, LON, KNX and DALI. As a result the knowledge gained by students trained at this centre benefits the whole controls industry.

Jim Sword Sales Manager for CentraLine by Honeywell, says, ‘CentraLine is delighted that three of our nominations are recipients of the prestigious Building Control Industry Association Awards. Recognition of Partners, projects and people is most gratifying considering the high number of quality finalists and the competition to win BCIA Awards.
