Air-conditioning range offers easier R22 replacement

Mitsubishi Electric

Mitsubishi Electric has launched a new range of Mr Slim air-conditioning products for small to medium-sized projects and incorporating Power Inverter technology, Most of these system now achieve an A energy rating. Models are also available with the company’s Replace technology to enable easier upgrading of existing R22 systems.

There are 12 outdoor units with cooling capacities from 3.6 to 22 kW and heating from 4.1 to 27 kW to achieve COPs of up to 4.61. All have a unified side-flow configuration and a small footprint.

The pipe run has been increased to 120 m. There is a choice of 34 indoor units to offer single, twin, triple or quadruple configurations.

The shapes of the fan and grille of the outdoor unit have been completely redesigned to increase blowing capacity and heat-exchange efficiency while reducing operating noise levels.

The newly designed rear edge of the fan suppresses wind turbulence and increases its operating efficiency. The fan opening has been increased from 490 to 550 mm, and the grille shape has been redesigned to reduce pressure loss and improve heat-exchange performance.

The heat exchanger is longer and has a greater coil density, improving heat-exchange efficiency for the larger models in the range.
