JS Wright wins £2.4 million contract for theme-park hotel

Building-services provider JS Wright is soon to start work on a £2.4 million contract with A&H Construction to install mechanical services designed by The Engineering Practice for the new 150-bedroom Drayton Manor Theme Park Hotel in Tamworth. Designed to blend in with this leisure venue’s woodland setting, the 3-storey hotel will be built in two sections, bridged by an atrium. It will have two rooms themed to Thomas the Tank Engine to complement the park’s Thomas Land.
The hotel is due to open in Summer 2011 and will have two presidential suites, and four ‘super rooms’ that can be easily converted to suit couples or families. There will also be two restaurants, a coffee shop, crèche and conference and banqueting facilities.
JS Wright is currently working on a new 584-bedroom City Inn in London and has recently completed Britain’s first combined Ibis and Etap hotel scheme for Accor at Birmingham Airport.
